mumbai local stuff

Long day today. Dont remember much except the last few hours. Went to classes. PPl fooled around with chalks. I had written asshole on two lines in reverse on a piece of paper to be impressed on someone's shirt like a stamp, some dumb guy read it is hot ass, ignoring the e. Dumb guy. Anyway, holidyas till tuesdaday. came home, slept mostly, modelled a bit and watched most of hungama. Read considerably into dancers at the end of time, will finish it tommorrow. Played a bit of PSO, but am unable to connect to the online game for some bloody fucking reason.
anyway, so today I tried modelling a mumbai local, and the whole thing came out pretty well. Used 3ds only for the top. the thing was pretty easy actually, but the final effect is good. I started off with this:

which is the general dibba. then I made the first class dibba as well...

pretty detailed on the outside, but it is still only a "dibba" didn't give it the innards of seats and compartemnts and such. Will do it when I make the final animation. Dont know whether to go ahead with it, people do not take animation seriously, and I have a very serious story for it. It will be dumb if it does not come out well. On the other hand, if I make a funny short film, it will be pretty good even if it does not come out well, as silliness is often mistaken for humour. Ah well... anyway, the floor is so detailed that I used an actual real world photograph as a texture. It is the floor of the bus that i had taken on the solo trip to yeoor around two weeks ago...

I particularly like how the suspensions came out. Around seven surfaces are all you need to make them perfectly smooth, but I deliberately chose fewer surfaces for both authenticity as well as render and import time and export size.

went on to compelete the train, after using a top with lesser surfaces for the same reasons as said above. for a close up, I had chosen a very smooth top, now its not smooth, but does not look like it. so this is the compelete model of a mumbai local. cool eh?

and basically, its just a box. hehe.

and then, struck by an obnoxious stroke of malinspiration, I decided to make the mumbai local in a futiristic setting.
Without the sky, this was what that came out

Pretty ugly eh? But improvised it somewhat with a sky, but the end result is not what i had in mind, and what i had in mind was pretty bad anyway. so the model itself was a sucess. Mostly, but I eed to render it with a better scene.

ah well... that about sums up the activities for today. Will check mail now, continue to download stuff... then go to sleep. Downloaded a load of sw movies yesterday, which i have to care to watch now...
