Bangalore Signals

One very interesting thing I noticed about the signals in Bangalore was that they had a countdown till the lights changed. Although, an ideal situation according to me was to have all signals always flash yellow, and have enough roads so that the probability of an accident is negligible. This is too fantastic to be practicable, but can be done when there is a small colony on a large, distant planet. In this case signals can be done away with.
But the next best thing, is already in place in Bangalore. The countdown prevents you from thinking too much about it, and also reduced the wastage of fuel in idling vehicles.
Most of the signals are like this, and there have been many improvements in Bandalore because of the IT industry that has been donating a lot of money for the developement of the city. Wish they'd do that in Bombay.
They have also provided every single police officer with a walkie-talkie, (as against only the constables) something absolutely necessary according to me. All the bus-stands are also lighted and have really nice and comfortable seats.

Wish they'd work a bit on thise roads though. There is some competition for the msot pot holed roads around, and I was about to vote for some stretches in Mumbai, but will go for Bangalore now. Or maybe that's just because of the recent rains.
