google

Was just wondering what would happen if you would google google. Funny thing is you come to know the contents of google's metatag, which reads "Google
Enables users to search the Web, Usenet, and images. Features include PageRank, caching and translation of results, and an option to find similar pages." There are 2,490,000,000 results, which really does not mean anything. The first non-google owned website that appears is on page two, the thirteenth hit, which is www.google-watch.org/, a website that critisizes google to a conspiracy theory extent. Funny that google even takes the trouble to cache itself (Google caches all the webcontent it crawls, which means that a copy of the page is made on the google server also, which is weird because you wonder if google has a copy of all the google-crawled web content, which would mean most of the accesible web, and a LOT of information. Made so that the searches are still relevent but this hardly ever matter). Anyway,

The "similiar pages" link takes you to AltaVista, Yahho!, Lycos, and somehow, statcounter (must be a clever metatag hack on the part of statcounter) and blogger. Came across a really cool applet game Montage-a-google, where you will be faced with a montage that throws up images from a random goolge image search, or alternatively, you can create your own montage from a search you choose. This is an example of the term "bombay"

Also came across and internal pre-release version of google talk. Am bored of blogging about this now. Will therefore, stop abruptly.
