First rains

So basically everything was fresh and fine and to hack a line from a marathi poem, the ground was looking like a lass who had just bathed, the heavens had sweetned the ground, and the birds were celebrating their forthcoming opportunities for propogation... and to write my own inspired line, the flowers were noticed for a change for some strange reason, the small flecks of mud on the jeans had not yet become irritating, little girls huddling under the same umbrellas pouting and boys doing their best to test out the waterproofness of various recently purchased commodities... and the weird laziness not to get out of bed but unfortunately you come home to realise no more mangoes. Ah well you cannot have everything in life.

Like the cunstruction worker in his tenth standard renovating my building with an uncle posessing a degree and yet driving an autorickshaw. Conversations with these people would help you realise a few things - the immense amount of respect they have for authority which we do not posess... the way they revere presidents, quoting them, and then promising themselves not to take bribes in whatever future jobs they might get. Mind you, they reveal things like it costs a bribe of around three lakhs for OBC people to get into a decent job despite the requisite qualifications, which makes you totally support the reservation. A few days ago, I was vehemently arguing that if reservations had been of any use, they wouldn't be really any need of them fifty years on but realise now that there is indeed a need for it. The sad part is both factions have politicised their agendas, the politicians will compromise on anything but their vote banks, and the students are just standing up for themselves having no clue what they are doing. Even those unaffected by the reservations end up at the rallies drinking beer and having the time of their lives showing off their - best to call it josh, and then forwarding around totally unture stories of students dying out of hunger protests and the like. Donno which way to swing, best to leave it at that.

Not blogged in a long time so am blogging everything together. Made a couple of films and enjoyed myself to, had a nice party yesterday where I met a guy five years after a hige fight and we had a blast anyway.

Cheers to vodka!

Oh yeah, and headed over to yeoor for the first time after coming back from Bangalore, and was rewarded with a fine demonstration of fear factor antics where this guy caught a crab and ate it. Also saw fireflies... pity they don't allow us to go into the jungle any more during the rains. Used to have a wonderful time with friends...
